Exercising in the cold weather could make you look younger. These are not our words; but take it from the age-defying woman, Liu Yelin.
People often mistake Liu, 50, as a girlfriend of her 23-year-old son. The China-born youthful mother shares her secret and says that she’s able to do this only because she is working out every winter in outdoors for over 30 years.
The super-toned Liu Yelin said, “she exercises every day around the year, but it is the sub-zero sessions that have made the difference.”
She believes in pushing her limits.
Liu practices yoga outdoors in Harbin (the city in China) at minus 42-degree temperature. And she was fearless from the beginning when she started doing this yoga routine.
She explains, “I wasn’t scared at all. I felt great.”
In an exclusive interview, she shared some of her pictures in swimsuit and said:
I swim in this lake every day; I come here 365 days a year. I think I’m at my best when I do winter swimming. Here in summer, I can swim up to 20 kilometers (12 miles). And last winter I went to Lake Baikal in Russia to swim there,” reports Ruptly.
Putin is her fitness idol, and Liu Yelin wants to compete with him.
During the winters, Yelin says that she can swim for at least 5 minutes continuously. And she’s hopeful that someday Russian President, Vladimir Putin will accept her challenge and would compete with her in winter swimming.
Who’d say the guy in the picture below is her son? But it’s true.
Liu has a 23-year-old son, Mandarin.
“This is my mum, but often people assume she’s my older or even younger sister.”
By profession, Liu was a former librarian.
Liu is used to weightlifting in her hometown Xinyang, China after the heavy snowfall. And she claims that it is because of this only it had been possible for her to look half of her age.
No matter what is the temperature or condition outdoors, she never misses her regime.
Liu, who is on Instagram as queenYelin explains exercising in the sub-zero temperature is not as daunting as it may seem. But, if you’re swimming outdoors and you start shivering after a few laps, then you must come out of the water to warm.
The young mother-of-one shot to fame last year in 2017 when she posted a picture of her on Weibo.
Weibo is a Chinese social media website. She has become a social media star in China with 1,50,000 followers. The lady says she feels as energetic as a 15-year-old girl.
Liu says that whenever someone asks about her favorite thing to do, she replies with just one word, swim.
It is true that it is painful to take off your clothes and dive into the water, but you would feel great for an entire day after you finish. ‘And more importantly, you would stay healthy for a lifetime,” reports DailyMail.
