From the WWE rumour mill: Brock Lesnar’s possible post-Wrestlemania feud
What’s the story?
Brock Lesnar was able to retain his Universal Title in the Triple Threat match at the Royal Rumble against Braun Strowman and Kane.
According to rumours, Lesnar is to face Reigns at Wrestlemania, where he is set to drop the title finally. His contract with WWE lasts until Wrestlemania. Fans have speculated that Lesnar is interested in returning to the UFC following WrestleMania to pick up where he left off.
According to the latest rumours reported by Cageside Seats, Lesnar may sign a contract extension with WWE to last beyond Mania, and his post-Mania opponent has been decided.
In case you didn’t know…
Brock Lesnar won the Universal Title from Goldberg at Wrestlemania 33. Since that moment, ‘The Beast’ has held and guarded the Universal Championship and has not let anyone take it away from him. Lesnar faced Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, Kane, and Roman Reigns, and defeated all of them.
Bobby Lashley has been a part of Impact Wrestling over the last few years. Lashley left Impact Wrestling earlier this month, and there has been speculation that he and WWE are close to signing a contract, which would see him return.
The heart of the matter
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer has speculated that Lashley may soon make a return to WWE. He was negotiating with NJPW as well as WWE, but with his negotiations with NJPW apparently coming to a halt, Bobby Lashley’s return to a WWE ring seems imminent.
It is believed that WWE wants to have a feud between Brock and Bobby Lashley post-Wrestlemania, but this means that Lesnar will have to agree to a contract extension.
It remains to be seen whether Lashley debuts in WWE in the coming days. A lot depends on Lesnar agreeing to sign a contract extension with WWE as well.
The fans may see these two behemoths facing each other in the ring post Mania.
